Archivio Aperto opens its 19th edition with the first theatrical screening of Carla Lonzi. Dentro e fuori dal mondo by Francesca Archibugi, who will be in attendance. Drawing on precious archival materials—some previously unseen and from the Home Movies Foundation—the film retraces the public and private life of one of feminism’s most incisive and disruptive voices, whose radical thinking continues to speak to the present.
The festival closes with two events: a restored screening of Private History by Gábor Bódy and Péter Tímár, presented in collaboration with the Hungarian National Film Archive. This experimental work influenced Péter Forgács’s filmmaking and his celebrated Private Hungary series: the first film, The Bartos Family, made ten years later, uses the same archival footage. The second closing event, at Teatro San Leonardo, is a live score for Oltremare. Sguardi amatoriali sull’Africa mediterranea.
