Art & Experimental Film is the section devoted to the recovery and re-enactment of independent Italian cinema from the 1960s and ’70s. The 19th edition of Archivio Aperto presents Processo politico (1971), a militant, experimental film that examines Milan’s complex political climate in 1969–70. It focuses in particular on the defamation case brought by Commissioner Calabresi against the weekly newspaper Lotta Continua, which had publicly accused him of being responsible for Giuseppe Pinelli’s death.
In 2024, at the initiative of Leonetti’s heirs, Fondazione Home Movies restored the film using materials held in the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation Archive and produced a new 16mm print.
