Private history

Gábor Bódy & Péter Tímár

Made in 1978, Private History also played a pioneering role in drawing attention to the importance of preserving, studying, and reworking amateur film heritage. Its influence is particularly evident in the work of Péter Forgács and his acclaimed series Private Hungary. The first film in the series, The Bartos Family, made ten years later, in fact draws on the same source material as Private History.
