Wise Ants (Formiche giudiziose) looks at the arrival of the first supermarket in Italy (1957) as a metaphor and model of change, a new space defined by codified behavioral patterns that would quickly contribute to transforming us into a consumerist and massified society. This gives rise to a moment of reflection in which images from the past connect with new technologies: an algorithm measures and analyzes past footage and purchasing behaviors, regulating human actions and projecting us into a future filled with unresolved questions.
