Continuing in the bouquet-style approach to composition, Bouquets 21-30 features images taken in different ecological settings, interwoven with the activities taking place in those places during filming . The shots are based on the possibility of using the medium as an artist’s canvas. Just as an artist can choose arbitrarily the portions of the picture they will draw, Lowder records her subjects by sliding the film forward or backwards, depending on the spot she has chosen to make the image “bloom”. In this way, each flower arrangement also becomes a unique bouquet of images.
