The 19th edition of Archivio Aperto Festival is approaching, and the time has come to start sharing some first glimpses of this year’s programme.
We begin with one of the festival’s most established and eagerly awaited sections: Storie Sperimentali (Experimental Stories), a programme dedicated to filmmakers who have shaped the history of avant-garde cinema. This year, the section pays homage to the great experimental filmmaker Stan Brakhage, with a retrospective featuring 10 films made between 1959 and 2001, all screened on film.
