Bolex 16mm shooting and B&W invertible development workshop

On the occasion of Home Movie Day 2023, the Home Movies Foundation and Officina Fotografica Shado are launching a Bolex 16mm shooting and B&W invertible development workshop to be held in Bologna, Italy on October 20, 21 and 22.

Participants, divided into groups of 3 and equipped with BolexH16 Reflex cameras and a 30m reel of black-and-white film per group, will be able to conceive and creatively express a small collective film project, simple and achievable in half a day of urban exploration in which to collect the botanical details of the city and the upper hand of nature over the buildings of today’s Bologna. You will follow the entire filmmaking process, from conception to shooting and final photochemical development. Participants will be provided with all the necessary equipment starting with cameras, various fixed optics, exposure meter, 16mm B/W reversible film, tripod, spiral and tank for development.

The results will eventually be screened on film during the Archivio Aperto festival, and each participant will receive a digitized copy of the film.
